Rye Rye – ‘Boom Boom’ Single Release

It seems like Rye Rye finally got a release date for her long awaited debut album “Go! Pop! Bang!” as it’s set to drop on the 15th of May on N.E.E.T Recordings/Interscope. On the new single ‘Boom Boom’, slated to drop the 16th of March, Rye Rye (makes her tackiest carrier move yet as she) dusts off the chorus off Vengaboys old euro disco anthem ‘Boom Boom Boom’.

The single EP comes with a handful of remixes from EOS, Glow In The Dark, Kat Krazy, Tom Neville, Yogi and Wayne & Woods.

Wow, Diplo is on fire these days. Everything he’s been offering up lately has been banger after banger. And this is no exception as he takes on one of my favourite tracks off Katy B’s critically acclaimed album debut “On a Mission”, the DJ ZINC-produced ‘Witches Brew’ and creates pure magic.

Last week Roc Nation unleashed Rita Ora’s debut single for the US crowd and here comes the UK debut single to follow up her success with DJ Fresh’s ‘Hot Right Now’. The single is called ‘R.I.P.’, is set to drop the 6th of May and is written by Drake, produced by Chase & Status and features Tinie Tempah. Listen below:

A couple of hours ago Nicki Minaj unleashed the title track (and possible second official single) of her upcoming sophomore album that drops the 3rd of April, “Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded” and managed to crash Hulkshare in the process as she uploaded it for stream onto her site. The single, that features Lil Wayne, channels the to good old Nicki sans all conformative shit like the RedOne-produced ‘Starships’.

‘Roman Reloaded’ is quite enjoyable, love the production signed Rico Beats and the line “All you hoes crying, Christopher Bosh” I laugh hard. Listen below:

Rita Ora’s Debut Single ‘How We Do (Party)’

Whoop! I talked about it earlier this week and here it comes, the official debut single from Roc Nation’s Rita Ora. The single serves as the follow up to her UK chart topping feature on DJ Fresh‘s single ‘Hot Right Now’ and is called ‘Party & Bullshit’. It’s a nice pop anthem, a quite brainless summer anthem really with a chorus that goes:

“I wanna party and bullsh-t
And party and bullsh-t
And party and bullsh-t
And party, and party“

Last week the Amplify Dot-featured ‘Rock The Mic‘ by Mickey J and the UK Female Allstars was unleashed and today Adot premieres her new banging track and video ‘Ruckus’. The track is produced by Shin of Dumb Beats and will be featured on her forthcoming 8 track long EP “Short Back & Sides” that drops the 27th of February.

A-Trak celebrates this Wednesday with offering a nice pack called “From A-Trak with Love” consisting of two new cuts for the price of liking his Facebook-page. The first is a take on Waka Flocka’s ‘Round of Applause’ ft. Drake and Jacques Lu Cont and on the second A-Trak lays his hands on The Neptunes-produced ‘Gotta Have It’ from Jay-Z’s and KanYe West’s collaborative album “Watch the Throne” and names it ‘Where My Money At’.

Wiley unleash the official visuals for ‘Evolve Or Be Extinct’ the best track off his latest album with the same title. The video that is directed by Ben Peters is simple and so much better that that workout mess that happened in ‘Boom Blast’. By the way, if you missed Wiley and Manga’s single ‘Hottie’ from last week produced by Thomas Mellor have a look and listen to that one as well below.

Cypress Hill x Rusko – ‘Roll It, Light It’ Official Video

I’ve been on the fence ever since the news about Cypress Hill and Rusko’s forthcoming collaborative EP “Cypress x Rusko” started to flourish. And when the first result emerged a couple of weeks ago in form of ‘Roll It, Light It’ I wanted to crawl right out of my skin. The full EP will contain 5 tracks and is due out in April but seriously, American rappers/(musicians in general) need to stop to jump on the dubstep-bandwagon in order to get some hype. If you do, please at least have the decency to make it a good marriage not like this rubbish Cypress Hill are trying to pass on with waste rap.

Well, at least the official video for ‘Roll It, Light It’ directed by Jodeb is quite nice.

It’s now almost four years since Rita Ora first was featured here on First Up!. Back then (19th October 2008) she appeared on Craig David’s ‘Where’s Your Love?’ alongside Tinchy Stryder and now she’s signed to Roc Nation, hers and DJ Fresh’s single ‘Hot Right Now’ has topped the charts and as we all impatiently wait for Rita to unleash her own debut single.

And here comes a nice treat to ease the wait as Rita last week made Gotye & Kimbra’s smash hit ‘Somebody That I Used To Know’ her own on BBC’s Live Lounge. Listen below:
