We said it before and we say it again, one to watch this year is Chippy Nonstop. Recently she’s been working on something with Kreayshawn, she’s featured on Major Lazer’s upcoming second album and here’s a brand new single from Chhavi herself called ‘Wut U Want’. Just as her previous release ‘Ki$$ Pon Da Cheek’ this one is also produced by Grizz Lee:

If you’re not already familiar with the name Princess Nyah that was on everyone’s lips for her huge track ‘Frontline’ back in 2009, well it’s about time you get to know this girl hailing from Harlesden. Over the past years she’s been working with everyone from Donae’o to Ghetts and been dubbed as the princess of UK funky. Before she drops her upcoming album debut “Patience and Persistence” later this year she now offers up a free 5-track EP called “Destroy & Rebuild”.

“Destroy & Rebuild” includes guest features from Wiley and No lay and productions comes courtesy of Champion, Ill Blu and DJ Wonder. She also includes a head-banging drum & bass re-work of Lisa Stansfield’s classic song ‘Around The World’. Listen and download below:

Gnucci Banana is featured on Schlachthofbronx upcoming album “Dirty Dancing” that drops in exactly two months meanwhile Spoek Mathambo is gearing up to drop his second solo album “Father Creeper” on Sub Pop March 13th (download the first single off the release, ‘Let Them Talk’ ft. Yolanda below).

This is such a good week people. First here it is, the full and brand new Danja-produced single by M.I.A called ‘Bad Girls’. The single goes on sale tomorrow and not only does the official Romain Gavras-directed video drop on Friday, there’s more new heat from M.I.A. in the pipeline this week as Madonna drops her M.I.A. and Nicki Minaj-featured single ‘Give Me All Your Luvin’ on Friday as well. As I’ve previously said, the trio will premiere the Martin Solveig-produced single during the Super Bowl the day before (2nd of February).

But for now, enjoy ‘Bad Girls’:

Azealia Banks – ‘Bambi’ (prod. by Paul Epworth)

Azealia Banks can lay a couple of hectic weeks behind her, not only did she land a record deal with Universal, no she also followed in the steps of Lady GaGa and premiered her new track ‘Bambi’ at the Thierry Mugler fashion show in Paris for the MUGLER Mens FW 2012-line by Nicola Formichetti and Romain Kremer.

‘Bambi’ is produced by Paul Epworth and well, I’m not too keen on the whole thing but as always Young Rapunxel kills when she raps. My wish for that album when it lands (probably around the summer) is that it will contain less electro and more material similar to the old Ms. Bank$, like ‘Us’ (that you can download below). However have a look at the Mugler-show and stream ‘Bambi’ below:

Here it is folks, the first single release off Schlachthofbronx’s upcoming second full length album “Dirty Dancing” that will drop at the end of March on Disko B Records. The single is a double release of ‘Slowine/Dickie Riddim’, the first is described as “techno cumbia” and the latter features none other than the legendary Warrior Queen and the words “Flow is wicked. Dutty as fuck. Dance pon di dickie” may guide you to what’s in store.

I love how the brand new official solo single from DJ Paul of Three 6 Mafia gets branded as “the first dubstep gangsta rap song of all time” and labeled dubhop. Newsflash, say hello to King Fantastic, they invented that shit in 2010, so no I love you DJ Paul but the “always staying innovative and creating new lanes to stay relevant and stay ahead of the game“-statement is a stretching it a bit too far for me. Then dubstep? Have you ever listened to like rinse.fm?

However, noting wrong about the track thou, I like it so well, look out for his new EP “A Person Of Interest” set to drop the 17th of April and enjoy the visuals and ‘COCKY’-single below:

M.I.A. Drops New Single ‘Bad Girlz’ (prod. by Danja) Next Week

Every spring leading up to a release of a new album from M.I.A. tend to be a good one and well, the spring of 2012 will be one of them as M.I.A. gearing up to drop her fourth full length release this summer, and my guess is that she will, in true M.I.A.-fashion name it after her child. However, as early as next week, the 31st of January, she will unleash the first single from the project (a day earlier it will also be available to stream over at Pitchfork).

The new single is a rework of a tune that appeared on her latest release, the free “Vicki Leekx“-mixtape called ‘Bad Girlz’, produced by Danja. M.I.A also nabbed Romain Gavras for the official video that will premiere the 3rd of February, yes, the same Romain who made the famous video for ‘Born Free’.

Remember the write up I did on Edwina Johnson aka. EJ back in mid November? If not, well it’s time to get acquainted with this girl that was born here in Stockholm, raised in Gothenburg but moved to London at the age of 12 as EJ is definitely one to watch.

In my previous post I posted up the acapella of her highly infectious ‘Mama, I’m Gonna Sing’ and here’s finally the official video along with the single release. The single, that drops March 11th, comes with remixes from Savage Skulls, Pete Tong and Jamie Jones. Have a listen and also peep the video below:
