Happy new year all dear readers! Like you probably noticed First Up! took a break during the holidays and we’re skipping out on the best of-lists and the year end-recaps this year. Internet is over flooded by all those lists anyway and personally I can’t digest another one even if I do live writing them.

Let’s just sum 2011 up by saying that it was a great year in many aspects and instead of dwelling in the past let’s look forward and start to live in the 2012. First Up! has always been more about the next and the present than the past anyway.

One thing I’m personally looking madly forward to this year is the release of Dizzee Rascal’s fifth studio album, especially since how he murdered ‘Heavy’ on Chase & Status’ “No More Idols” at the beginning of 2011 as well as the feature on D Double E’s ‘Bluku! Bluku!’ during the early fall. Crossing my fingers hard that this album will be Dizzee’s definite return to grime after his many mainstream affairs the past years.

But, before the release of that comes probably the b e s t thing possible to kick off the brand new year: A mixtape straight outta the Dirtee Stank-camp celebrating the new year and the dirteetv.com-platform, and yes, it’s oozing of proper grime!
