Marina Gasolina’s Debut Solo Single ‘Leone’

I love Marina Gasolina to death. When she left Bonde do Role, the baile-funk band she founded and fronted, after the huge success of their album “With Lasers” I was pretty bummed to say the least. Bonde do Role was not the same without her, Marina Gasolina WAS Bonde do Role. But instead she started to pursue her solo career with great collabos with Radioclit and Maskinen among others.

But that was then, now is now and now it’s time for her solo single which is called ‘Leone’ and will be officially released on her own label Anfetamina Records on the 29th November.

The single is produced by Etienne Tron (the second half of Radioclit) and Marina is ditching the baile-funk that she is known for and exploring a more experimental electronic sound and instead she makes a homage to the master of Spaghetti Westerns – Sergio Leone.

Marina’s self-titled debut solo album was recorded with the almighty Radioclit (with some tracks co-produced by Electronicat) and is currently being mixed. With the live performance being a very important part of her work, she is now showcasing the new material with her live band and going back to her punkier roots. If you’re in London you can catch her playing tonight at the Notting Hill Arts Club as well as the following dates:

Wed 10th Nov – Lock Tavern, Camden – London
Wed 17th Nov – The Rest is Noise, Brixton – London
Fri 26th Nov – Macbeth, Hoxton – London
