Death of Auto-Tune
None of the two previous “Blueprints” are monumental classics for me, I never been the biggest Jay-Z fan to begin with. For me, his greatest album is the collaboration: “The Best of Both Worlds” with R. Kelly from 2002 (such a shame that Kellz’ sex-tape bag messed it all up) and Hova’s greatest achievement in my eyes is to wifey Beyoncé.
Pretty much sums my Hova up, doesn’t it?
Therefore, I’m not that hyped for “The Blueprint 3″ nor this new street single called ‘D.O.A (Death of Auto-tune)’ (which will be released tomorrow the 7th). Sure, an important question that needed to be raised (even if I personally nowadays actually ENJOY the auto-tune mania) fine, but the track in itself is pretty much dull as dishwater. The production (done by No I.D.) does absolutely nothing for me. NOTHING. The only good thing with the track aside from the topic is the horrible but yet cute (and very much in fash’on, another thing Hova has a great eye for, just check the ‘Swagger Like Us’-folder) homage paid to Steams’ ‘Na Na Hey Hey Goodbye’.
“The Blueprint 3″ will be released the 11th of September. Hopefully the rest of the album will be much more interesting than this.

But those noir horn sighs are pretty great.

Noetik>> thanks! hopefully it's better structured now. anonymous>> well, hahaha I was A BIT ironic about the Beyoncé-thing… but the production on 'D.O.A' is BORING. "standard" hip-hop and rap is not exactly what I prefer, I want a twist, as long as it's interesting and not stagnated, progression and development +1.

I have to disagree. The production, not just the lyrics, represents the side of rap that isn't swayed by temporary trends and fads. I'm not a gigantic Jay-Z fan, but it's quite disturbing that his greatest achievement to you is marrying Beyonce
